Sarah Palin at the Iowa State Fair
- August 12, 2011

Sarah Palin made a surprise show at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on August 12, 2011, only a day before the influential Republican Iowa Straw Poll and one day after a presidential debate held on Fox News.

Sarah Palin's appearance at the State Fair, which is one of the biggest in the nation, drawing 100,000 people a day and at a time when the state is overrun with media trucks and reporters due to the Straw Poll and the debate, have refueled speculation that she still may get into the presidential race for 2012.

Palin appeared on Sean Hannity's Fox News Show live at the fair surrounded by fans and fairgoers. In the interview she says she is still considering a 2012 presidential run. They also discuss Rick Perry, the Ames debate, Barack Obama's poor approval ratings, press attacks on conservatives, the awakening of America to understanding President Obama's policies, job creation in America and balancing the budget.

"These members of Congress have been part of the problem. Not part of the solution. I say it with all due respect to those who are willing to serve in public office. But doggone it, no more of the same, no more politics as usual." - Sarah Palin

Part 1

"I think we're seeing a great awakening of the American public. They're seeing what you saw, what I saw, in candidate Obama, when we were questioning his record. We knew that he wasn't being vetted. Voters were not told what it was that he truly believed in, until we saw snippets here and there that were uncensored, unedited, when he alluded to his desire to redistribute wealth and to fundamentally transform America. Now people are realizing what he meant by that fundamental transformation of America and they're saying NO, that is not what we need. What we need is a great restoration of America." - Sarah Palin
